I baked one 10' hexagon cake and crumb coated with a standard buttercream recipe.

I also baked 2 small ball cakes and 1 half of a sports ball pan cake. Crumb coated using the same buttercream recipe.

After the final coat of buttercream was placed I then stated to cover the hexagon cake with fondant. I like to use Satin Ice (tastes better)

I then removed the excess and placed aside to color for the additional details to be added later.

I then placed the 1/2 ball cakes to resemble dress covering a pregnant belly and breasts and cut away the top portion.

After coloring the addition fondant pink I started to construct the dress by adding the seems, the strap, and added ruffles to the entire bottom edge of the hexagon cake.

After cutting out MANY petals and using my ball tool to ruffle he edges I started at the bottom of the dress and worked my way up to the strap with darker petals then gradully getting a lighter shade of pink. I also attached a whit fondant bow. I added little pearls around the pink strap, a pink seam around the top of the chest.

I then added a white fondant strop to show it was to tie around the neck (just for added detail. It's not needed) There is is the finished "Baby Bump Cake"

Here is another variation of the same cake with polka dots.

This is a simplified version of the cake and also my first attempt at a "Baby Bump Cake" I used the Wilton petal cake for the base cake.
